Photography/Fleurtography

If you follow me on places like the Between The Tales Instagram you may have noticed that over the years I have really evolved into taking my photography a bit more seriously, even to the point of developing that entire space to showcase my love for the art I create! Honestly, can we be honest with each other? Honestly, I think I’ve loved photography for a long time, but I don’t think I saw myself as the kind of person who could be a photographer. Does that make sense? Photographers always seemed like the kind of people who only existed in the shadows, people who had this special gift that I couldn’t find anywhere. Something almost mythically unattainable. Although I spent the entirety of my life in front of the lens of first my father’s camera and then ones of my own, I still couldn’t see myself as capable of being a photographer.

Even now I find that I shy away from calling myself a photographer, as though to say I don’t possess a special gift all my own? As though it were not me that worked to take a photo like this and find the beautiful joy in it.

As though to say that the art is not mine, when in fact it is my heart’s blood. And if it were money that made me a photographer then even that I have earned. So it begs the question; then what does make me a photographer? Equipment? I have it. Cameras? I have them. Eye? I have. Photography and art prints? Fleurtography exists. So then is it a sheer fear to say what I know could be true? Is it simply a matter of sheer will of belief that makes you a photographer?

Here are some photographs that I have taken since I was last with you.

Here we have reached the end. I’ll add a QR code and the website to Fleurtography, along with the link to the Between The Tales IG, and a wish well for your goings and troubles. Thanks for letting me express myself with you all these years and I hope we have many more to come! If you would like to continue to support in more ways please pick one and I’ll thank you!
